Lakeland Bank Awards $106,500 in Scholarships

Supporting students from 52 northern New Jersey high schools
 
Oak Ridge, N.J., August 9, 2013 – Lakeland Bank awarded $106,500 in scholarships to high school graduates dedicated to pursuing a college education at award ceremonies held earlier this year. Lakeland Bank staff presented 59 scholarships to students from Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.
 
“Raising over $100,000 for the young adults in our communities who are dedicated to pursuing a college education is a milestone that Lakeland Bank is proud to have achieved,” said Thomas Shara, president and CEO of Lakeland Bank. “We sincerely thank our customers, business partners and colleagues for their generous donations and for helping the Bank support the communities we serve.”
 
Lakeland Bank’s Annual Scholarship Golf Outing has provided over $1 million in scholarships supporting more than 550 students since the Bank began hosting this annual event in 1974. The 2013 Annual Scholarship Golf Outing will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at Crystal Springs Country Club in Hamburg, N.J. Local businesses and individuals are invited to help the Bank achieve its goal to raise $100,000 which will be distributed to students graduating in 2014. The funds raised from the 2012 Lakeland Bank Scholarship Golf Outing were presented to students at the following high schools:
 
Bergen County: Becton Regional High School, Bergen Technical Schools, Dwight Morrow High School, Hackensack High School, Indian Hills High School, Ma’ayanot Yeshiva School for Girls, Park Ridge High School, Ramapo High School, Rutherford High School, Teaneck High School, Torah Academy of Bergen County.
 
Essex County: James Caldwell High School, West Caldwell Tech, West Essex Regional High School.
 
Morris County: Boonton High School, Butler High School, Jefferson High School, Kinnelon High School, Madison High School, Montville High School, Morris County School of Technology, Morris Hills Regional High School, Morris Knolls Regional High School, Morristown High School, Mountain Lakes High School, Pequannock High School, West Morris Central High School, West Morris Mendham High School.
 
Passaic County: DePaul Regional High School, Eastern Christian High School, Lakeland Regional High School, Manchester Regional High School, Mary Help of Christians Academy, Passaic County Technical Institute, Passaic Valley Regional High School, Wayne Hills High School, Wayne Valley High School, West Milford High School.
