Lakeland Bank Supports Sussex County Charities
Annual Golf Outing Raises over $50,000
Oak Ridge, N.J., August 1, 2013 – For 32 years, Lakeland Bank has hosted the Sussex County Golf Classic to support not-for-profit organizations that serve the County and surrounding communities.
“We always have such great success at this event, and this year was no exception,” said Robert Vandenbergh, Regional President and COO of Lakeland Bank. “Over $50,000 was raised for local charities with close to 200 golfers joining us for the day.”
In addition to the money raised at the June 18th outing, Lakeland Bank staff contributed $2,600 to the Classic through the Bank’s Jeans Day program. This program provides the opportunity for colleagues to wear jeans on Fridays when they donate $10 or more to the charity of the month.
Since the start of the Sussex County Golf Classic in 1982, this event has raised over $800,000 for local non-profit organizations. Proceeds from the 2013 Classic will benefit the following 17 organizations: Camp Nejeda, CASA of Sussex & Morris County, Center for Prevention and Counseling, Domestic Abuse Services, Inc., Family Promise of Sussex County, Freedom House, Ginnie’s House, Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial Foundation, K.E.E.P., Inc., Literacy Volunteers of America--Sussex County, Norwescap, Pass It Along, Project Self Sufficiency, Samaritan Inn, SCARC Foundation, Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council and the Sussex County YMCA.
