Lakeland Bank Raises $85,000 for Scholarship Fund
39th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing exceeds expectations
Oak Ridge, N.J., November 30, 2011 – More than $85,000 was raised at Lakeland Bank’s 39th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing held earlier this fall at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, N.J.
“To exceed our goal by more than $10,000 for the scholarship fund was an unexpected surprise, and we are grateful to the community for supporting our longstanding tradition of helping local students pursue a college education.” said Thomas Shara, president and CEO of Lakeland Bank. “Many of our colleagues worked diligently to raise awareness of our scholarship fund and ensure our outing was a successful event, and I thank them for their efforts.”
This year over 200 golfers attended the outing and played on either the Wild Turkey or Cascades course. After finishing on the green, attendees joined Lakeland Bank staff for lunch in the Emerald Ballroom.
Scholarships will be provided to 41 high schools in 2012, and presented to students selected by their schools who have demonstrated academic success and need financial assistance to attend college. The following schools participate in our scholarship program:
Bergen County: Becton Regional High School, Dwight Morrow High School, Hackensack High School, Ma’ayanot Yeshiva School for Girls, Park Ridge High School, Ramapo High School, Teaneck High School, Torah Academy of Bergen County.
Essex County: James Caldwell High School, West Essex Regional High School.
Morris County: Boonton Township High School, Butler High School, Jefferson High School, Kinnelon High School, Montville High School, Morris Hills Regional High School, Morris Knolls Regional High School, Morristown High School, Mountain Lakes High School, Pequannock High School.
Passaic County: DePaul Regional High School, Eastern Christian High School, Lakeland Regional High School, Manchester Regional High School, Christian Academy, Passaic Valley Regional High School, Wayne Hills High School, Wayne Valley High School, West Milford High School.
Sussex County: High Point Regional High School, Kittatinny High School, Lenape Valley Regional High School, Newton High School, Pope John Regional High School, Sparta High School, Sussex County Technical High School, Veritas Christian Academy, Vernon High School, Wallkill Valley Regional High School.
Warren County: North Warren Regional High School.
