Oak Ridge, NJ – July 26, 2010 – Thomas J. Shara, president and Chief Executive Officer of Lakeland Bank, has announced that Lakeland Charities, Inc., presented a total donation of $2,590 to the American Cancer Society. This donation will be distributed to their local Morris, Essex, Warren, Bergen, Sussex and Passaic County chapters in New Jersey. This collection is a result of a bank wide employee program where employees donated $10 during the month of May, and in turn were permitted to wear Jeans on Fridays.
“The commitment of our employees to continue to provide generous donations to those less fortunate, even through these tough economic times is remarkable,” stated Thomas J. Shara. The bank will continue this monthly program for the remainder of the year in which employees will have a chance to donate to numerous charitable organizations.
